Artist Statement and  Biography : 
Syeda Mleeha Shah is a contemporary mixed media artist known for her mandala-inspired geometric works that blend Moroccan, Middle Eastern, and Andalusian visual traditions. Influenced by the rhythmic symmetry of zellige tilework, the elegance of Arabic calligraphy, and the ornamental refinement of Ottoman and Persian design, her pieces are built through layered patterns, textured surfaces, and luminous color. Each artwork carries the quiet balance of heritage and innovation, as classic motifs are reimagined through a modern, reflective lens.
Born in Pakistan and raised between cultures, Syeda now lives and works in Richmond, Virginia, where she maintains her studio practice under Arabesque Reflections. Her artwork is featured at JAG Universal Collection and in private collections, local exhibitions, and community showcases. Through her work, she seeks to bridge past and present—inviting viewers to slow down, look closely, and rediscover the beauty of intentional, tradition-rooted design.
